Alain Joset, Baselrecht

Alain Joset has been admitted as a lawyer since 2001 and a certified SAV specialist in criminal law since 2015. Baselrecht operates from two locations, on Pelikanweg in Basel and Gitterlistrasse in Liestal. His field of work covers criminal and criminal procedure law including the enforcement of sentences and measures, complemented by matters relating to the ECHR as well as constitutional and administrative law.

Beyond his casework, he teaches at the University of Basel and publishes regularly on criminal law topics, including in plädoyer and forumpoenale. He is a member of the Swiss Bar Association and of the bar associations of both Basel cantons, and is active in the Pikett Strafverteidigung Basel association, whose chairmanship he held from 2005 to 2024. He advises in German, French, and English.
